Raw brass jewelry will naturally darken over time as it oxidizes, which creates a beautiful patina. If you'd prefer to keep your brass shiny and bright, there are several methods to polish it and restore its original luster. A brass cleaner like Brasso works great, but at my house we soak brass pieces in ketchup for 30 mins, then wash gently with soap and water and dry immediately.
